The Similar Cyrtochilum is a sympodial orchid belonging to the sub family Epidendroideae native to Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. The name refers to its affinity to C halteratum.

Plant Description

Sympodial. Grows to 70cm. Each new growth has numerous leathery leaves that grow to 60cm long. Pseudobulbs grow to 5-12cm

Climate

Grows at high elevations. Rainfall ranges from 23mm to 109mm per day, heaviest in October and lightest in January. Humidity ranges from 73% to 77%, highest in October and lowest in January. Temperature ranges from 8C to 22C, highest in May (11C to 22C) and lowest in February (8C to 18C).
