The Monkshood is a cold growing orchid belonging to the sub family Orchidoideae native to Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. The name refers to it's similarity to a genus in the Ramunculaceae.
