General Information

The Nyika Habenaria is a warm growing orchid belonging to the sub family Orchidoideae native to Mozambique, South Africa and Zimbabwe. It is named after the An Island near Mozambique, not the plateau in Malawi.

Grows to 50cm. Each new growth has numerous leaves that grow to 1.2-15cm long

Grows at low to high elevations. Rainfall ranges from 20mm to 226mm per day, heaviest in July and lightest in January. Humidity ranges from 60% to 84%, highest in August and lowest in February. Temperature ranges from 12C to 29C, highest in April (19C to 29C) and lowest in January (12C to 22C).
