Plant Description

Sympodial. Each new growth has numerous leathery thick leaves that grow to 0.7-10cm long. Pseudobulbs grow to 0.3-3cm

Climate

Grows at high elevations. Rainfall ranges from 1mm to 300mm per day, heaviest in June and lightest in February. Humidity ranges from 57% to 79%, highest in June and lowest in March. Temperature ranges from 13C to 29C, highest in April (19C to 29C) and lowest in January (13C to 26C).

Watering

These orchids are sensitive to excessive watering and should only be watered when they look thirsty. Water infrequently and ensure that the roots are dry before watering. Keep an eye on them especially during hot weather as overwatering can lead to rot, whereas underwatering may result in wilting or shriveling, which while unattractive, will not kill the plant.

Fertiliser

Reduce fertiliser when plant is dormant during Spring.
