Lockhartia parthenocomas is a sympodial orchid belonging to the sub family Epidendroideae native to Peru and Ecuador.
Plant Description
Sympodial. Each new growth has numerous leathery lance shaped leaves that grow to 1.2cm long. Pseudobulbs grow to 50-60cm. The plant forms clusters over time

Climate
Grows at low to high elevations. Rainfall ranges from 46mm to 274mm per day, heaviest in October and lightest in February. Humidity ranges from 77% to 84%, highest in November and lowest in August. Temperature ranges from 13C to 26C, highest in August (15C to 26C) and lowest in January (13C to 23C).
Watering
These orchids prefer a wet-dry cycle between waterings, they should be watered frequently but only when the moisture is approaching dryness, where the pot feels light and/or the media looks dry. Keep an eye on mounted orchids in warm weather as they may dehydrate quickly.
Fertiliser
Be sure to flush out excess fertiliser by running water through the media regularly year round. Reduce fertiliser when plant is dormant during Spring.
