The Reddish Diaphananthe is a monopodial cool to hot growing epiphytic orchid belonging to the sub family Epidendroideae native to Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Congo, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sudan, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.
