Frymire's Scelochilus is a sympodial warm growing orchid belonging to the sub family Epidendroideae native to Ecuador. It is named after the American Orchid Enthusiast and Co-collector of species later in the 1900's.

Plant Description

Sympodial. Grows to 13-15cm. Each new growth has a single oblong shaped leaf that grows to 2-10cm long. Pseudobulbs grow to 2-3cm

Climate

Grows at low to high elevations. Rainfall ranges from 3mm to 180mm per day, heaviest in October and lightest in February. Humidity ranges from 70% to 81%, highest in August and lowest in May. Temperature ranges from 13C to 26C, highest in June (16C to 26C) and lowest in February (13C to 23C).
