Scelochilus limatamboensis is a sympodial orchid belonging to the sub family Epidendroideae.
Plant Description
Sympodial. Grows to 6.2cm. Each new growth has a single thick oblong shaped leaf that grows to 1-5cm long. Pseudobulbs grow to 0.3-1.2cm
Climate
Grows at low to high elevations. Rainfall ranges from 20mm to 150mm per day, heaviest in July and lightest in February. Humidity ranges from 63% to 78%, highest in August and lowest in March. Temperature ranges from 10C to 27C, highest in June (17C to 27C) and lowest in January (10C to 19C).
Watering
These orchids prefer a wet-dry cycle between waterings, they should be watered frequently but only when the moisture is approaching dryness, where the pot feels light and/or the media looks dry. Keep an eye on mounted orchids in warm weather as they may dehydrate quickly.
