Ligia's Sigmatostalix is a sympodial warm growing orchid belonging to the sub family Epidendroideae native to Colombia. It is named after the Mrs Posada Colomborquideas co-owner.
Plant Description
Sympodial. Grows to 13cm. Each new growth has numerous arching elliptic, lance shaped leaves that grow to 1.8-9cm long. Pseudobulbs grow to 2.2-4cm
Climate
Grows at low elevations. Rainfall ranges from 20mm to 188mm per day, heaviest in May and lightest in March. Temperature ranges from 19C to 32C, highest in March (21C to 32C) and lowest in June (19C to 26C).
Watering
These orchids prefer a wet-dry cycle between waterings, they should be watered frequently but only when the moisture is approaching dryness, where the pot feels light and/or the media looks dry. Keep an eye on mounted orchids in warm weather as they may dehydrate quickly.
